Hi, My name is Ryoichi Hiraoka. I live in Hiroshima, Japan.
Hiroshima is about 679km west of Tokyo. It takes about 4 hours from Tokyo to Hiroshima by Shinkansen and about 1 hour half by airplane.
My goal is to drive all over Japan.

The Purpose of The Drive
In this article, I’ll show you a drive from Hiroshima to Okayama.
The purpose of going to Okayama is to visit Bitchu Matsuyama Castle.
Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture
The starting point is near Hiroshima University in Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima.
Hiroshima University is a national university. It is about 1km after turning left at this intersection int the picture above.
National Route 2
I will turn right and go by National Route 2. National Route 2 is a road connecting Osaka and Fukuoka prefectures. The length of the road is 671.4km.
Onomichi Bypass
The road from here is Onomichi Bypass. This bypass is a free road.
Goodbye Route 2
If you go straight, it’s Route 2. This time, I followed the car navigation and turned left this intersection.
National Route 313
From here it is National Route 313. National Route 313 is a road connecting Hiroshima and Tottori prefectures. The length of the road is 180.7km.
Do you remember that I explained the manga Detective Conan’s museum in the article I drove to Tottori? This road continues close to the area.
Okayama Prefecture
From here it is Okayama prefecture.

If you go straight, it’s Route 313. The destination is on the right, so I turned right.
Bitchu Matsuyama Castle
Narrow Road
The road from here is narrow, so follow the staff’s instructions. It seems that several cars will come down, so I will wait here.
By the way, buses run on holidays, and it seems that private cars cannot pass through this road. In that case, park your car in the large parking lot on the right side and take a bus or walk up.
