Hello, My name is Ryoichi Hiraoka. I live in Hiroshima prefecture, Japan.

Hiroshima is about 679km west of Tokyo. It takes about 4 hours from Tokyo to Hiroshima by Shinkansen and about 1 hour half by airplane.

My goal is to drive all over Japan.

I hope you enjoy the atmosphere of Japanese roads and tourist spots on my Blog and my YouTube channel.

The purpose of the drive

In this article, I’ll show you a drive from Higashihiroshima city to Hiroshima city in Hiroshima prefecture.

The purpose of going to Hiroshima city was to visit Hiroshima Castle and the World Heritage Atomic Bomb Dome.

Higashihiroshima City

The starting point is near Hiroshima University in Higashihiroshima City.

Hiroshima University is a national university. It’s on the right side of the photo above. As you can see, it’s in a place rich in nature. Those who plan to study abroad at Hiroshima University will live in this area.

National Route 2

National Route 2 is a road connecting Osaka and Fukuoka prefectures.

The length of the road is 671.4km. In the near future, I want to drive from end to end of this road.

Hiroshima City

It’s Hiroshima city from the photo below.

Hiroshima city is the prefectural capital of Hiroshima prefecture.

As you can see, this area is still a country road. Like this road continues for a while.

Goodbye Route 2

Route 2 is straight, but I turned right this time. If you go straight, you can go to Miyajima. Miyajima has Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage Site. I would like to introduce it on my Blog and YouTube channel someday.

An Railroad Crossing

You have to pause when crossing a railroad crossing by car. Please note that the car in front may not be moving.

Mazda Motor Corporation

Do you know a Japanese automaker called Mazda? Mazda’s head office is located in Hiroshima Prefecture. It’s on the left side of the photo above. Therefore, many Mazda cars are running in Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Toyo Carp

The symbol mark of the team is the so-called “Carp Boya” meaning Carp boy.
※In the photo above, the symbol is reflected in reverse because it is reflected in the mirror.

Do you know Hiroshima Toyo Carp? Hiroshima Toyo Carp is a professional baseball team. Its home base is MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima and is on the right side of the photo above. Therefore, there are many Hiroshima Toyo Carp fans in Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Station

Hiroshima Station is on the right side of the photo above. If you come to Hiroshima for sightseeing, you will come here.

You can go to various sightseeing spots by train. For example, Hiroshima Castle, World Heritage Atomic Bomb Dome and World Heritage Itsukushima Shrine. In addition, you need to take a ferry to go to Itsukushima Shrine.

Hiroshima Castle

Hiroshima Castle, my destination, is on the left side of the photo above. There is no parking lot in Hiroshima Castle, so I’ll find a parking lot near this area.

I wrote the article of Hiroshima Castle on my blog.

The center of Hiroshima

Hiroshima Prefectural Government is on the left side of the photo above. This area is the center of Hiroshima and has lots of commercial buildings and business buildings.

The atomic bomb dome

The atomic bomb dome is on the right side of the photo above. The atomic bomb dome is one of the World Heritage Sites.

I wrote the article of the atomic bomb dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on my blog.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is on the right side of the photo above. There is no parking lot in it.

A Parking lot

I found a parking lot, so I will park here this time.

This is the end of the article.
